Sure you can dump a Squishdot Site within a Plone instance, but it doesn't really buy you much.

"Access control" - well, Squishdot use Zope's authentication and authorisation facilities, just the same as CMF and Plone so I have no idea what you're referring to here.

"other features" - Squishdot posting won't show up in the Plone search results, can't think of what "other features" there could possibly be...

    By default Squishdot does not ask for ID and password when attempting to access the home page. Where do I begin to learn about turning on this Zope feature?

      You need to read up on Zope's security model.

      You'll likely need to allow View and Add Postings for the Authenticated role and remove them from th Anonymous role.
